The Nokia Social and Health Center provides a wide range of healthcare services, including doctor and nurse appointments, urgent care, a health center hospital, and social services. On weekdays, the number of people working in or visiting the building can exceed 1,000, which is why the facility was designed to be customer-oriented and to support the development of digital services.

Safety in daily operations was also a priority from the early stages. The facility implemented a new kind of digital rescue plan using Codeax SAFE. In collaboration with safety specialist Arto Kärki from the Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa, the City of Nokia, and Codeax, a customized digital rescue plan was created for the center.

”In healthcare environments, safety is of the highest priority. We wanted to create a rescue plan that is both comprehensive and easily accessible to all stakeholders.

Program tailored to the customer’s needs

Codeax SAFE has been developed by listening to the needs of its clients, which is clearly reflected in the rescue plan for Nokia’s new Social and Health Center. Healthcare settings have unique requirements, and ensuring safety in multi-stakeholder environments calls for a versatile tool.

“The platform is designed for various types of properties and needs. It’s user-friendly for both those filling in the plan and those using it, regardless of employer,” says Arto. One of the program’s biggest strengths, according to Arto, is its mobile version. Mobile scalability is essential today, and Codeax SAFE enables smooth access to the plan across different devices – a key advantage when up-to-date information is critical.

”We’ve received valuable support from Codeax during the creation and implementation of the rescue plan. They have also developed the platform further based on our feedback.”

Easy updates and information sharing

Feedback from those maintaining the rescue plan highlights Codeax SAFE’s ease of use. Updates can be made in real time – an essential feature in dynamic environments like healthcare. At the Nokia Social and Health Center, the rescue plan is an integral part of safety operations, so it must be accessible to everyone.

A particularly convenient feature is that the plan can be shared via a link, without passwords. This facilitates access for other parties, such as contractors, security personnel, and partners. With the public version, even clients can easily view the rescue plan.

Visuals support safety awareness

According to Arto, visuals are a central component of the rescue plan. Graphic elements make safety information easier and quicker to grasp – especially important in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Staff, clients, and visitors alike can intuitively identify key safety features. The image- and symbol-based approach also brings visual clarity and makes the plan easier to internalize.

Data security matters

Data security is paramount in healthcare. Codeax SAFE ensures that safety information is well protected. “We wanted the plan to have two views – a public one and a confidential version for supervisors and authorities,” Arto explains. The platform allows for differentiated access views, ensuring personnel can see only what’s relevant to them, while all data remains properly secured. This ensures the right people have the right access – and helps prevent misuse.

Benefits of new features

Codeax SAFE’s newest features, such as symbol filtering and image printing, earn high praise from Arto. These tools allow users to manage and present the plan more effectively and make it even more user-friendly. Arto believes the system already meets a wide variety of needs and continues to evolve based on user feedback.

”The collaboration around the rescue plan for the Nokia Social and Health Center has been highly rewarding. We are satisfied with how the platform has adapted to our needs, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Codeax to keep safety a priority in the future.”
