Next up in our introductions is Vesa Jylhä, whose main responsibility is internal software development at Codeax.
I’m Vesa Jylhä, Software Developer at Codeax. My role primarily involves developing the Codeax SAFE platform and maintaining the company’s website.
My journey to Codeax started during my time at my previous job at K-Rauta, where I worked alongside my software engineering studies. Through K-Rauta, I got to know Ari, who offered me an internship opportunity at Codeax. After learning more, I became interested and began my software development internship in spring 2023. Over the summer, I completed the practical training required for my degree. I also got a thesis topic and the opportunity to continue working at Codeax alongside my studies after the summer.
My motto is: “Every problem has more than one solution.”
During the fall and winter, my work focused mainly on designing and developing my thesis project. The topic was “Printing functionality for the Codeax SAFE platform”, which meant building a new feature that allows users to download a safety layout image from a floor or site plan. The feature was launched in early 2024, and I completed my studies in May 2024, graduating with a degree in Information Technology Engineering from Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
After graduation, I was offered a permanent position at Codeax, which I happily accepted. We have a great and close-knit team here, and I’m excited to continue working on the development of Codeax SAFE and its additional modules. I’m looking forward to learning even more – both in software development and in the safety field.
